Sharon brings her extensive experience and business acumen from the financial side of the house to give the Wasz Dukes Real Estate Team a solid foundation. Sharon handles the daily business operations, marketing and staging of homes. She keeps the team on track and competitive to make sure home buying and selling processes run as smoothly as possible.
The Northern Virginia Association of Realtors (NVAR) recognized her as a member of Remax’s 100% Club and Top Producer in 1997 and 1998. After more than 20 years of experience with mortgage banking, she was awarded “Rookie of the Year” for her real estate company. Sharon holds a BS in elementary education from Eastern Michigan University.
Sharon is a REALTOR® with several advanced certifications. She is a Certified International Specialist (CIPS), Certified Real Estate Appraiser (CREA), and a Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES).
About the Certifications:
Certified International Property Specialist – This five-day certification course is designed to train REALTORS® so they can complete international real estate transactions for their clientele. In addition to coursework, they must pass an examination, accrue 100 elective points and show proof of agent participation in three international transactions. Their training includes the following topics:
- Currency and exchange rate issues
- Cross-cultural relationships
- Regional market conditions
- Investment performance
- Tax issues
Certified Real Estate Appraiser -This license is for those who estimate the value of real estate and is regulated by the Real Estate Appraisal Board. It requires hours of education and demonstration of appraisal skills.
Seniors Real Estate Specialist®- This certification is advanced training for REALTORS®who specialize in serving families ages 50+. The coursework includes topics such as the following:

- Aging in Place
- Independent Living
- Housing Options for Assistance
- Financing Options
- Legal and Tax Matters
